There are many people that just want to read content. I was only reading on Medium for a few years before I wrote a word. I like the readers only because normally they are not operating with watered down claps from clapping for all their writer friends or five second pity scans instead of actually reading.

The people that irk me are the social media content guys that are all over Facebook and Twitter publicly saying they will follow you. They’ve said it to practically everyone on the FB thread but when you look at their Medium profile they are following only 30 people but followed by a few thousand. I guess it’s some type of hack to boost your social media credibility but it really burns my biscuits to see it.
