The issue is that we need to start letting both sides communicate honestly without the fear of losing a job, being trolled online, and harassed. When those women, Barbecue Becky or Permit Patty harass black people, they shouldn’t be shamed into silence. We need to take it as an opportunity to discuss with them what is the problem instead of forcing them into silence. Muzzling people does not change their way of thinking, it just makes them closeted racists, sexists etc. and the mindset and behavior does not change.
