I used to defend Joel Osteen. Even after the Storm scandal I tried to defend him by saying that he talks about that multi million dollar building a lot in his sermons so he probably didn’t want people to mess it up. What was I thinking? A building paid for by the followers should have been the first place open. He does take a lot of pride in having acquired the former compact center for only 7 million dollars. That building is his Idol now. It took me a while to wake up but I see it now. His motivational preaching is leading people astray and they don’t even realize it because he’s tickling their ears with words that make them feel good.
